The Inspiration
Nashia Frye’s reason for launching a juice bar was deeply personal. In high school, she saw firsthand how dietary adjustments and clean eating helped improve a loved one’s chronic health condition. At the same time, Frye realized the health and wellness industry often overlooks under-resourced communities. So she decided to launch a juicing business focused on expanding access to clean living.
The result is No Label Juice Bar & Cafe — a project that began as a pop-up, took shape in Growing Hope’s Incubator Kitchen, and finally moved into its own brick-and-mortar space in Ypsi.
As its name suggests, No Label exists to dispel the belief that healthy living is only available to the elite. Where some health brands capitalize on exclusivity, No Label offers a warm and welcoming environment for anyone to explore a healthier way of living.
Looking Forward
Since launching its brick-and-mortar location, Frye has expanded No Label’s product line to include salads, smoothies, and also coffee from Ypsi staple Hyperion.
Along the way, Frye said she’s become more at ease handling the unpredictability and challenges that accompany running a small business. One thing that helps, she said, is having a solid support system — and she credits the broader Ypsi community with helping her business establish a firm foothold here.
“Ypsi is a nice place. We support each other here, more than anything,” Frye said.
